Saddling
Joanne Forster is a trained and certified Independant Saddling Consultant, she has trained with David Johnson, Master Saddler of almost 40 years standing, Society of Master Saddlers 'Saddler of the year 1983' and Carol Brett of The BALANCE organisation, alongside this she has spent countless hours watching and studying the horses that she has worked with to gain a deeper understanding of what approach to saddling our equine friend actually prefers.
Sadly many horses are saddled using a process to suit what the rider wishes to do with the horse at such given time rather than what is actually best for the horse at that time.
Many horses are expected to prematurely participate in and perform in activities which are beyond their actual soundness and fitness levels, however due to horses being the type of animal that follows the least line of resistance as oppossed to saying 'no' they adjust the way they use their bodies to cope and adapt to compensatory movement patterns instead. Sadly this leads to premature failure of other areas in the horse's bio-mechanical structure which is generally blamed on something else or just accepted.
