Welcome To Cote Hill Riding Centre

Cote Hill Riding Centre is a licensed Riding School, approved to The British Horse Society & is the base of Joanne Forster - a qualified Centered Riding Instructor level II, BHSAI and UKCC Level II Equestrian Coach who specialises in Rider posture and Horse & Rider bio-mechanics. 

Joanne is Classically trained and is currently studying towards Centered Riding Level III Clinician status having trained and studied Centered Riding since 2002, she is driven by her passion to help all riders to learn how to improve their riding and confidence to the best of their ability whilst overcoming fears and self-limiting beliefs.    Joanne's belief is if you teach someone to ride in better balance they will feel more secure and the end result will be a more confident rider.

Cote Hill Riding Centre is a BHS approved Riding Centre, fully licensed and insured for teaching on our own horses & ponies, we are also an approved Pony Club Centre running sessions for children mid-week and week-ends. 

The Centre is based in the beautiful village of Witton Gilbert which is approx 5 miles west of Durham City Centre in the North-East of England.

Cote Hill RC is home to 'Apollo' - our Racewood Riding Simulator, 'Apollo' is available for tuition for lessons and courses. Visit 'Apollo's' page for more information.

Joanne is one of the 3 level II Centered Riding Instructors in the UK, is currently studying towards her Level III CR clinician status and is also a qualified BHSAI, UKCC Equestrian Coach level 2, Life Coach, NLP Practitioner and has a diploma in Sports Psychology.











Joanne runs many courses, clinics and workshops at the Centre and also  travels to other areas of the country to deliver 2 and 3 day clinics.

Centered Riding Instructor Courses and Open Clinics with International Centered Riding Clinicians are also available at the Centre throughout the year.

All of our horses and ponies are well trained schoolmasters of Riding Club build and type, they all have good foundations in their lateral work, are sensitive, balanced and they teach people well.
